What to do when the insurance company won’t help you

Young couple worried about insurance claimIf you’re injured in an accident, dealing with insurance companies can be a difficult and emotionally draining experience.

At Wood & Craig, our attorneys have a combined 50 years of experience dealing with insurance companies, with over 400 jury trials. We know from experience that whether you’re in a car, truck, motorcycle, bicycle or boat accident, getting an insurance company to pay a claim for personal injury can be an exhausting and difficult process.

The important thing to remember is that the goal of insurance companies is to pay the lowest amount possible for your claim. If they are willing to pay a claim, they may try to get you to agree to a settlement that is favorable only to them. And if you are physically injured, you may not have the strength to fight for what you’re entitled to.

An insurance company may offer many excuses for denying a claim1, including:

  • blaming your injuries on a past accident or illness,
  • minimizing or unfairly characterizing the nature or severity of your injuries,
  • blaming you for the accident,
  • citing a lack of insurance or police report, or
  • attacking your credibility.

Remember, if you are hurt in an accident, first seek medical attention immediately. Don’t put it off. Then, give us a call at 404-888-9962 and let us represent your interests with the insurance companies. We are here to help you find your voice and overcome the injustices and inequities of the insurance industry.
