Street racing in Atlanta results in injury to two children

Local news reports that two children were rushed to and treated at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston after they were struck by a vehicle that lost control while street racing on McDaniel Street in Atlanta.

Reports indicate that the driver of a Chevrolet Camaro lost control while racing a Dodge Charger.  The Camaro smashed into the brick steps and iron handrail of the Perfect Church of Atlanta.  Of the five children who were standing near the church at the time, three were able to successfully jump out of the way.  The two who were struck are reported to be seven and fifteen years old.  One of the children suffered a broken leg while the other has severe cuts and bruising.  The driver and passenger of the Camaro fled the scene by jumping into the Charger.
