DeKalb County Police charge driver involved in accident with officer

DeKalb County Police took Tingiero Ma Lourdes into custody and charged her with failure to yield, and driving without a license following an accident with injuries involving Ms. Lourdes and a DeKalb County Police Officer.

Investigators say that Ms. Lourdes pulled out in front of a DeKalb County officer which caused him to swerve to miss Ms. Lourdes.  The officer’s vehicle collided with a telephone pole.  The crash occurred on Glenwood Road on June 25th at approximately 4:00 p.m.  Fire and EMS on scene used the Jaws of Life to extricate the injured officer from the vehicle.  When he was successfully removed from the vehicle, the officer was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment for what is reported as moderate injuries.  The officer was expected to be kept at Grady overnight to monitor his injuries.
